Hey Guys, thanks for all the support! I hope you all enjoy the video as it took ages to put together. I also wanted to quickly mention a few things: 1. The new iPhone 16 Pro Max might have a larger screen & higher screen resolution, but it has the same 460ppi as the 15 Pro Max and its larger battery should help with the larger screen size. 2. All phones are sitting at 100% battery health, except the iPhone 15 Pro Max which is on 96% health. In my experience, a slight dip in health doesn't really affect SOT, what does affect it though is when the latest iOS releases on an old iPhone - In this case the iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 18... Watch the video, but 4% battery health wouldn't drop SOT by 2 hours, iOS would. That said, I always test out the last gen iPhone a year later to see how long it lasts a year down the line! 3. The iPhone 15 Pro Max dropped by 7% after running Instagram and it overheated too. Other devices only dropped by 2-4% after IG. I'd be surprised, but this isn't the first time this has happened to the 15 Pro Max and IG as it happened before after an update. Seems like IG hasn't been optimised well with the 15 Pro Max running iOS 18 (yet). 4. The Huawei entered into emergency mode when it dropped to 1%, and when I hit exit the phone died. I checked off camera to see if it would turn back on and it wouldn't. In my last drain test it stayed on after I hit exit. Strange. 5. All phones are SIM free and running ONLY on Wi-Fi. The Samsung might show cell bars but all Samsungs do even when there is no SIM card installed. In case you were wondering why, its just to show the signal you have incase you need to make an emergency call. 6. In the past, many of you have said this and that about screen resolutions and said that because one phone is pushing more pixels than another it affects the battery life. Well, I have been doing battery drain tests for years now and have noticed the difference is extremely minimal (if any at all) and depending on the phone, sometimes I've seen greater battery life from a phone running at it's native QHD resolution instead of having it dropped down to FHD res. Just some food for thought. 7. I always keep all the brightness levels, apps and app running times EXACTLY the same so that you can compare these results to other SOT results within Battery Tests on MY channel. 8. Nah just that last app, Spotify and screen record as you can see at the bottom right of the screen just before it dies. I follow the same procedure as I have with my last 30+ drain tests.
As I already wrote under the community post, you need to check temps with some app like CPU Z that shows SoC temperatures, your method is not efficient since different phones have the motherboard placed in different places. Also hotter surface temp usually means better heat dissipation so yeah the IR Thermometer aint gonna cut it This will make the temperature test much more accurate
Apart from snapdragon, no other SoC vendor exposed CPU temperature Only battery temperature can be seen on every Android phone, but then surface temperature would make more sense

We all know that the iPhone always has a smaller battery compared to samsung and other brands, but they can compete thru the help of optimization. @@alexus1981if I'm not mistaken, it only does that when your not using the phone. Like if your on the home screen, it'll drop the fps until you do an action
What about the other brand like nubia or realme , i hope you add them to the list , by the way it's a great video.
Since iPhone 15 Pro Max is a viable option to consider over the iPhone 16 Pro Max, I’d like to watch a battery test with the 100% battery health if possible.
At 100%the 15 pro max will be around 9h20min
doing the math:
528mins at 96%
5.5mins at 1% health
528 + 4(5.5) == 550 mins at 100% health
or 9 hours 10 minutes
Great comparison as always man!
Just imagine an iPhone with 5000mah or 5200mah battery 💀 y’all should appreciate the work apple put in both their device and their software
Since apple being so resistant to add more battery that probably wont happen till another 2 or 3 iphones
If they put work on their divices they put a 5000 mah in their phone or more, but they know they don't need to meale an effort
Apple only runs at 80hz most of the time if team at 120 as often at the androids it would need much bigger battery
nope, shareholders should appreciate it, users should hate it, since they obviously have ability to make the phone last sooo much longer, but they are maximizing profit, to be at the top by 1% longer battery life. They could easily do 20% more, but that would increase the cost of their cheap small battery by 10$, so no way thats gonna happen till they absolutely have to.

Best baterry drain test channel ever
Do you have to get brand new phones every time you do this? Or do you replace some of the batteries in the older devices? Seems like an expensive process
I don't use any of the phones personally so they are all pretty much new, aside from the 15 Pro Max which I mentioned in the video and my pinned comment
World best battery comparison chanel in the world its a fact that i phone batries video and performance are the best in the world but i dont know why people say iphone dont have good batery life thay have the best batery and also people buy old iphone like and they say they have low batries life its not the batrie its there low budjet ❤😂

Excellent quality video. Keep posting more quality videos. I never miss your videos But iphone 16 pro max has lppdr5x (7500mhz) not lpddr5. Kudos for your painful hard work 😂😅.

It's slow so it doesn't use as many resources that's why it's the most efficient, make it a higher clock speed it's battery gonna dwindle down very fast
the Xiaomi 14t Pro with its price and this great result is rocking here, actually i love this devise a lot (20 min charge and it kick again for one full day)

I'm proud of the Pixel 😅. iPhone has nailed optimization on their pro phones.
11:53 Yep and this is why I've left my parents phones on iOS 17.7, they don't care about the iOS 18 new features they barely know how to use their phones, I don't seem the need to upgrade for iOS 18 for them. If my 16 Pro Max had the ability to go back, I would too.
Thanks for watching the whole video bud!
I’m using iOS 18.1 beta 7 right now on my 16 pro max and I’ve been able to hit 16 hours of screen on time on my phone. But I don’t really use it for gaming.
Dumb move considering with apple intelligence, you can ask the phone how to do stuff and it’ll tell you

Cuz it’s not fun, there’s no optimization, all they did was add a bigger battery and even then the phones barely win. The OnePlus 12 loses pretty bad in Techdroider’s tests

Were you screen recording on the iPhone the whole time? I saw a message pop up right when it died.
If so, were you screen recording on all the other devices as well?
Nah just that last app, Spotify and screen record as you can see at the bottom right of the screen just before it dies. I follow the same procedure as I have with my last 30+ drain tests.

Simply awesome work. Magic 6 pro should be there
As I already wrote under the community post, you need to check temps with some app like CPU Z that shows SoC temperatures, your method is not efficient since different phones have the motherboard placed in different places. Also hotter surface temp usually means better heat dissipation so yeah the IR Thermometer aint gonna cut it
This will make the temperature test much more accurate
Apart from snapdragon, no other SoC vendor exposed CPU temperature
Only battery temperature can be seen on every Android phone, but then surface temperature would make more sense

This just proves that optimization is really a big help, not just by having a bigger size of battery. We all know that the iPhone always has a smaller battery compared to samsung and other brands, but they can compete thru the help of optimization. Apple is really great when it comes to software optimization, and Im a Samsung fan. I wonder if Samsung can make their phones optimized to their highest capability to have a perfect phone that have a much bigger battery and optimized software, which will definitely last approx 15hrs for sure.
At 12:17: actually The Huawei won. It has an automatic shutdown and the battery hit 5 to 4%....
